2011 Estate Malbec

This wine could easily be mistaken for a Southern French Malbec, with a leaner, more earth driven style than most Argentina Malbecs. Expect bright acid with notes of sour cherry and cassis, with a layer of soft tannins for structure, and a dusty rustic quality that gives this Malbec a completely different character. Blackberry notes dance on the tongue while a hint of mint on the nose give the Malbec a very unique impression. This wine would benefit from an hour of decanting, and would be a sturdy compliment to a wild game dish or hearty cheese.

2012 Estate Merlot

A “Right Bank” style wine, this Merlot resembles a young European Bordeaux more than a New World Merlot. Subtle notes of blueberry and dried cherry are the most apparent flavors of this restrained style wine, which gives this wine a lively lift to balance the earthy nature and aroma’s of wet slate and mineral. This wine is age-worthy and will benefit greatly from a couple hours of decanting or a few passes thru an aerator if you can’t wait that long to enjoy it. 

2011 Estate Syrah

The 2011 vintages continue to amaze me with their freshness of fruit.  This Syrah is just beginning to show signs of secondary and tertiary aromas revealing black and red peppercorns, violets, cured meat, mushroom, pencil shavings, menthol, mint, crushed rock, coffee, and cocoa nibs.  An opulent style of Syrah – very Californiaesque – with lifted aromas, brimming with copious amounts of macerated berries, black fig jam, crème de violet, Copa cola, and fennel.  A heavy weight wine boasting black and purple fruit leather, regal tannins, black cherry cordial and high-alcohol.  Overall a generous, sexy, and anguine Syrah.  

2012 Estate Cabranet Franc

Only 9 barrels of this delicious Cabernet Franc were produced. Inky black, this wine is silky smooth and rich, with a polished elegance rarely found in Cab Franc. The wine is layered with flavors of dark chocolate & cassis with aroma's of blueberry, sage, and white pepper. With a few years of aging prior to release, you can now expect a very balanced wine that can be enjoyed anytime without needing decanting.
